Chisinau Solid Waste Project – Environmental and Social Assessment

The project objective was to identify and assess potential negative environmental and social effects associated with the proposed project, that may occur later, as well:

• Assess compliance with the law in force and the Social and Environmental Policy (SEP), and EBRD Performance Requirements (PR);
• Identify all necessary measures to avoid, minimize or mitigate negative impacts;
• Identify potential environmental and social opportunities, including those that would improve the ecological and social sustainability of the project.

Within this project, TCD provided support to the client in development of the Environment and Social Assessment Plan, elaboration of documentation, including all necessary components, in line with the EBRD requirements and the national law in force, for obtaining the Environmental Agreement for the project implementation.
